Zahra Al Bebas is a 35 year’s old Libyan woman, a painter… but not just one among the others; she is someone special: she paints with her mouth, birth upper limbs’ malformation depriving her of the use of her arms. But she is not only being defined by her handicap; this attaching young woman is above all, a smiling person with infinite softness, with a calm and reassuring voice, a tender and strong glance in which one sees the thousands of colors of her painting. Her visit to France for “the Day of the Large Maghreb” has enabled us to meet a wonderful artist.

Zahra Ali Al Bebas - A Miracle and Talent
A bright young Libyan woman from Janzour city Zahra Ali Al bebas was born in 1971 with disability to her arms, but her disability did not stop her from achieving what other normal people couldn't. Zahra loves the art of painting and started painting with her feet at a younger age then switched to painting with her mouth, she spent a tremendous amount of time in hospitals being hospitalized for her disability, and that caused her to begin attending school in a later age, but with the help and support of her family and friends Zahra graduated from high school and attended the faculty of Arts at Al Fatah University in Tripoli majoring in painting and photography. In the year 2000 Zahra achieved what she wanted, and earned a bachelor degree in arts, and now attending The Academy of Graduate Studies in Janzour City preparing for her master degree in arts.
